Welcome to the latest issue of my occasional magazine that essentially ties up the various features and reviews that I’ve penned lately. (Inset pic is from America in Crisis at the American Musuem Bath). Yes, it’s a bit of a mish-mash written for my own amusement – so I hope you enjoy it – although some of the copy comes from publications I work for such as Bath Voice – mostly it’s stuff that interests me.
In this issue there’s my failed trip to Wigan Pier to have a go on the slot machines. Sadly like George Orwell before me when he visited I only found the murky waters of the canal – but still an unusual jaunt on a freezing day in the northern town.
Like many critics I’ve had my fair share of threats and insults from disgruntled chefs, managers and theatre directors. A subject I explore on page 10. If you can’t take it then don’t give it is the moral.
Any road up – I hope it’s a good read – until next time, pip pip!
