Malawi captain Caroline Mtukule made her debut in a game which saw Storm win the later stages of a game in front of 1700 spectators in Bath. Ali Wilshier, named as Team Bath’s Most Valuable Player, added: “The end score doesn’t show it but I thought it was a massive step up from us tonight in the first three quarters. Each week we are seeing progression and that’s what we will take from the game.”

Bath led at one point early on but missed chances cost them dear although not a rout with four tries for the Blue Black and Whites. The Saints go marching on but an injury to Jonathan Joseph is a blow for the travellers – but some good spells of play suggest Bath may yet see a resurgence if they can be consistent.
