Happy International Day of the Midwife. Not forgetting the hardworking Maternity Care Assistants and Doulas also working hard to support women and babies during this difficult time. If you are interested in becoming a midwife or would just like more of an insight into how to get there read my book Midlife to Midwife, now available at a reduced price of £7.99 for the kindle edition (link below).

Follow my journey, when aged 40 with no qualifications and 4 young children I started with an Access to Nursing course, onto a midwifery course, then training and coming out the other side finally qualifying aged 46! I then completed a Master of Midwifery whilst working and have ended up working in research – the sky really is the limit!
