By Harry Mottram: Bath City’s last home game (and the last in National League South) ended in defeat despite Scott Wilson scoring twice in the first half against Maidstone. The Stones came back in the second half with three goals to complete an impressive recovery and to take all three points on their way home to Kent. It was a disappointing end to a season that has seen The Romans sleepwalk into the drop zone – another change of managers – and a feeling it could have been different if changes had been made sooner. Football like most sports is about fine margins – Bath have ended the season on 43 points – seven points below Dover meaning it they had managed three more wins they would have stayed up.

Bath City for the Maidstone game: 24. Charlie Binns, 2. Jo Raynes, 3. Danny Greenslade, 4. Ollie Tomlinson, 6. Kieran Parselle, 9. Scott Wilson, 11. Brad Ash (27. Jaiden Putman 82), 14. Alex Fisher (7. Jordan Alves 65), 22. Matt Bowman, 48. Josh Laqeretabua (34. Reubin Sheppard 63), 59. Donovan Wilson (19. Luke Russe 38). Subs not used: 1. Harvey Wiles-Richards, 15. Louis Sweeten, 17. Mitch Beardmore.

Now all eyes turn to next season and how the club can bounce back after this season that’s ended in relegation.
